Meet in the Herrick Lake parking lot, off Herrick Road between Warrenville and Butterfield Roads. Meet by washrooms off the parking lot. 

This 887-acre preserve is one of the most popular in Du Page County, and not just with humans. It has hosted more than 254 species of wildlife and 470 different types of plants. 

We will walk either a 2- or 5- mile loop through woods and prairie, including a portion  of the Regional Trail system that winds through the west suburbs. Parts of this walk are open; be sure to bring a sun hat.
