All Day for 2 DaysNFTY Kallah at OPT
Oak Park Temple is hosting NFTY-CAR Winter Kallah January 18-20, 2019. Approximately 80 teens in grades 9th-12th from across the Chicagoland Area and Northwest Indiana will come together for a weekend of Jewish learning, social action, singing, seeing old friends and making new ones, praying, and having a great time. This is also a special event because we are focused on social justice in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Weekend.
This means we will have many teens staying in Oak Park for the weekend. We are asking for your help in housing 3-4 (or more) additional teenagers for the weekend. Even if you don’t have teenagers of your own at home, many families find it fun, rewarding, and even refreshing to host some of our young adults for these few days. The main responsibilities for host homes are driving them to and from Oak Park Temple and your house and feeding them breakfast. All of the teens will bring a sleeping bag and pillow, so it is okay if you don’t have extra beds. If you decide to host, please fill out the host family application. The names of teens staying with you will be determined by the NFTY Chicago Regional Office and will be provided at the beginning of Kallah. Please do not make your own housing arrangements. If you have questions, please contact Naomi Segal at nsegal@urj.org.
Thank you!
Robin
