Meet the Author: Shelly Sanders and The Night Sparrow

Join award-winning author Shelly Sanders for a talk on her new novel, The Night Sparrow. Inspired by real women of the Red Army during WWII, the book follows Elena Bruskina, a young woman whose quest for revenge leads her to become a sniper and interpreter in the Red Army. She becomes entangled in a secret hunt for the most evil fascist of all. Sanders will share the history behind the novel, and her research into Jewish Female Snipers.




 

Shelly Sanders is an award-winning Canadian-American author whose historical fiction explores hidden Jewish histories and intergenerational trauma. She began her career as a journalist for major Canadian publications before turning to Jewish historical fiction. When she’s not writing, Shelly leads creative writing workshops and enjoys painting, paddle boarding, and walking her dogs.
