OPT is so proud to be a co-sponsor of the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs's Chicago Racial Justice Day of Learning. On Sunday, February 6 all are welcome to join for a day of learning on racial justice as a Chicagoland Jewish community. This day will be multifaceted and have programming for all ages. It will provide space to reflect on racism through the lens of history to better inform how we move forward in dismantling systems of oppression today.
Participants are welcome to join for one session, a few, or all day!

10 am- Opening session including music and intention setting
11 am options:
- How Change Happens: Empowering Communities for Public Safety (ECPS) with Jackie Baldwin of JCUA
- Black and Jewish Soundscapes of Social Justice with KAM Isaiah and Ebenezer Baptist Church Leaders- 11 am option
- The History of Jews and Housing in Chicago, and What You Can Do About It with Repair, JCUA, and YLD- 11 am option
- Black & Jewish relationships, is it still important with Pierce Boyd-Bagby-
12:45 PM Options
- Construction of Jewish Whiteness Alongside Blackness with Tani Prell
- Rest in Practice and Protest with Erica Walker
- Personal Narratives of Young Latinx Jews with Carol Guzman and Ariana Roman
2 PM Options
- The creation of a West Side Credit Union with Oak Park Temple and West Side Church Leaders
- Student Activism and Protest- A session for college students
- Jewish Learning with Rabbi Caper Funnye of Beth Shalom B'nai Zaken Ethiopian Hebrew Congregation
3 pm: A gathering for Jews of Color led by Kol Or (JCUA's Jews of Color Caucus)
4 PM: Closing session and reflections by Cydney Wallace
