7:00 PM - 8:00 PMHolocaust Survivor Marion Deichmann
Monday, May 6 @ 7:00 pm at OPT or on Zoom
Yom Hashoah is the Jewish Holocaust Memorial Day, running from the evening of May 5 through the evening of May 6. Oak Park Temple is proud to host Marion Deichmann to share her story and engage our community in conversation. Her experience and the experiences of her generation are rare treasures that must be honored and preserved.
As a child, Marion escaped Germany with her parents, making their way to Paris. While there, Marion's mother was arrested and sent to Auschwitz, from which she never returned. Marion was relocated many times by the French Resistance until she ended up in Normandy. Her book, Her Name Shall Remain Unforgotten, is dedicated to her mother and is available in English, French, and German.
