Don Harmon, Illinois State Senate
Don Harmon is the president of the Illinois Senate, representing the 39th district, which includes Oak Park.  An Oak Park native, Harmon was first elected to the Illinois Senate in the fall of 2002.  During his time in the General Assembly, he championed early childhood education, ethics reform, curbing gun violence, protecting civil rights and expanding voter access.  He has a long and positive relationship with the Jewish community of his district and will speak this afternoon on issues of concern to constituents of all religious backgrounds. This program is organized and hosted by STAR (Suburban Thursday Afternoon Retirees) and is open to the entire community.
