January 15, Session 1
Introduction, OPT Mission statement and the OPT Constitution
Getting to Know You
WORD OF THE DAY-DERECH ERETZ [Way of the Land]
Facilitators: Brad Wainer and Shari Schindler
The Derech Eretz program will be introduced with a description of the intent and process of the program.  Members will introduce themselves and discuss their personal and family history in regards to their connection to Judaism.
The OPT mission statement will be discussed
The Oak Park Temple constitution will be dissected using question and answer methodology. 

March 12, Session 2
Your Style of personal interactions  and role-playing
No Need For An Acting Coach
WORDS OF THE DAY-Lashon Hara [Evil Tongue]
Facilitators: Brad Wainer and Shari Schindler
Monte Lewis, through his  personality profile testing done prior to the meeting ,will have a discussion of personality types and  propose ways in which people with different personalities approach problems and problem-solving. We will have role playing and discussions on how to run a good meeting and how to provide consensus.

The group will be given a choice of three projects. Ultimately these recommendations will be presented to the board at the June 12, 2019 meeting
• How to better engage  new members in the congregation
• ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​How to increase volunteerism and how to inculcate voluntarism in the culture of Oak Park Temple
​​​​​​​• 
Develop a vision plan to see what new programs or expanded programs should and could be made part of the temple.


March 19, Session 3
Israel and Reform Judaism
You And The Homeland
WORDS OF THE DAY- Kol Yisrael Arimev Zeh Bazehm[All of Israel is responsible for itself]
Facilitators: Shari Schindler and Brad Wainer
Rabbi Kirzane will discuss Reform Judaism and how it intersects with Israel and generally how the reform movement views the state of Israel at the present time.

Legacy, Endowment and Past Presidents

Money, History and the Secret Stuff
Facilitators: Shari Schindler and Brad Wainer
Ron Broida and Matt Tushman, both past presidents, will hope to elucidate issues and challenges that they had with in the temple during their terms. They will also discuss some future financial considerations critical to the function of Oak Park Temple.
Review of the group project

 

April 23, Session 4
Bricks, Mortar, Budgets and Anti Semitic Realities Realities
WORD OF THE DAY: Kehillah [Community]  
Facilitator: Shari Schindler and Brad Wainer
Aaron Lebovitz will discuss the budgeting process and the specifics of the budget.
Security committee members will discuss building security in the Post Pittsburg world.
Brian Hammersley will provide a discussion of the challenges of the OPT building and to conduct a walking tour of the temple.
Review of the group project

May 7, Session 5
The  Rabbi and the President
A Rabbi and a Lawyer where stranded on a desert island…. Who gets the last word?
WORD OF THE DAY: Tzedakah [Charity]
Facilitators: Shari Schindler and Brad Wainer
Rabbi Weiss will generally discuss the history of Reform Judaism leaving time to “ask the Rabbi” about   this topic or other general concerns.
Liz Simon, OPT President, will discus the many and varied opportunities for involvement at Oak Park Temple.
Final review of the group project and recommendations to the Board

Bonus session on a Sunday: date TBD/location TBD
Harriet Hausman has agreed to discuss her recollections and many experiences at Oak Park
