The 10/27 Niggun Meditation Session has been Canceled
Beginning with Eastern European Chasidm, Nigguns became an important form of prayer and meditation in Judiasm. As Chassidim was a movement of the people, singing Nigguns (wordless melodies) didn’t require an extensive knowledge of Torah, Talmud, or Hebrew and as such it became a vehicle where anyone, no matter their background in Jewish scholarship, could connect to G-d in a personal and meaningful way.
In these series of sessions we will be using Nigguns both as a form of meditation and as a vehicle of personal prayer. Group discussion will address basic meditatation skills, how to deepen meditation, and expressing ourselves in prayer in a meaningful way.
These sessions are for anyone that wants more depth to their meditation and prayer, experienced meditators, those who are curious about spiritual development, and of course lovers of music.
