Join the Chicago Jewish Coalition for Refugees and congregations and individuals from across the state as we affirm our obligation to welcome the stranger and take action to support refugees and asylum seekers. Panelists include Melanie Nezer, Senior Vice President of Public Affairs at HIAS; Melineh Kano, Executive Director of RefugeeOne; and Winniefred Akrello and Celestine Mugisha, a refugee couple who met in Uganda. Participants will also get to know local organizations working with and advocating for refugees and asylum seekers.
