2nd THURSDAY! OPT Live!
Thursday, February 9, 2023 • 18 Sh'vat 5783
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM2nd THURSDAY! OPT Live!
Come join us this Thursday night at OPT's monthly interview/storytelling/music show,
Second Thursday/OPT Live!
Barbara Brotman will interview Dean and Maurie Stern about their 20 years as short-term foster parents, when they took in some 60 children, from infants to young teens, for days at a time. Sometimes it was after a domestic violence incident; sometimes a baby had been born addicted to cocaine. Dean and Maurie will talk about what it was like caring for these children, and how their three daughters were crucial members of the team.
Jay Arbetman will provide our musical interlude with a couple of songs, and lead us in a sing-along!
And storytelling will be by YOU. Please come and tell a story, Moth-style, in our version - the Butterfly. This month's prompts:
- Have you ever seen someone you’ve known your whole life in a new way?
- Tell us about an important teacher or mentor in your life and what they taught you
- A time you learned to love winter
Keep it to under 5 minutes, and go for it!
Pizza, beer/wine/soft drinks for purchase, and schmooze time - chase away the winter blues!
A monthly event for adults only with interviews, stories, music, pizza, games, and hanging-out.
Arranged by Arts-Up! — OPT’s creative ad hoc committee.
